After raising their four children in this classic house, these busy clients recognized it was in need of an update.  A “no-room-is-off-limits” policy for pets and grandchildren set the expectation that rooms are to be used and furnishings must be comfortable to stand up to real-life use. Building on the great bones of the house and integrating the client's eclectic art collection, spaces were created that are livable and relaxed, yet elegant enough for formal entertaining. We helped assess family heirlooms, determining which pieces resonated with them so that the favorites could be worked into the overall design scheme. Unusual antique and contemporary pieces were sourced that suited their style and made sense with the existing inherited items. An over-sized Christian Liagre coffee table anchors the living room, working seamlessly with the couple's special antique Persian rugs.
